Mac Mini (Late 2012): black screen on boot-up, no cursor

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini. Can't get it to run. I get the chime, then a black screen; NO cursor. Nuttin'. Doesn't get to start-up screen. Just a very faint glow around the edge of screen.

I've tried:

• Booted into Target mode with my laptop and used Disk Utility on it (says everything's fine)

• Totally reinstalled OSX Mavericks on it

• Booted into Safe Mode (didn't work)

• Recovery mode (ditto)

• Opt+Cmd+R+P (nuttin')

Help.

I conclude that either the electrons to the Thunderbolt port failed or the fairue is further up in the chain to the integrated graphics. If that is the case then the HDMI port will not work. If only with the Thunderbolt then the HDMI port should work.

If you have TV with HDMI port try connecting the Mini to the TV.
