Cannot Find Pioneer BDR-XD05S

My MacBook Pro 2009 running ElCapitan 10.11.6 cannot find my Pioneer BDR-D05S. I have tried every suggestion that I can find posted. I did succeed in burning some iso files to it (I think) using Wondershare, but now I can't find the thing to see if my pics are even there!

I get a popup telling me that I don't need to download any firmware updates. Please help.

I tried downloading the driver from Pioneer but my iMac is saying it can’t run the driver due to the upgrade to 64-bit. I’m running on OS Catalina and it worked on my last iMac (Late 2015).

Pioneer BDL-XS05 will not mount with14.1 This DVD player/writer will not produce a mounted disk image on the desktop with OS 14.1. on a 2018 iMac It did work with High Sierra, which is installed on another Apple computer. Anyone experiencing the same thing? DVD firmware was updated to latest as of November 13, 2018.
