iPhone 8 not supporting external mic

I recently purchased a CVM-VM10 II external microphone by Comica to improve the audio quality on my phone videos.

Know that I wouldn't be able to plug in the mic into the headphone jack, I purchased a 3.5mm to lightning adapter so I could connect it to the iPhone.

However, when I plug the microphone in and try to record with it, my phone sends me a notification saying, "This accessory is not supported."

Any way to fix this so that I can use the microphone in Voice Memos or Video or Filmic Pro or anything?
