Cant add Yahoo account to Iphone

This afternoon, my Yahoo email suddenly wouldn't load any new emails on my Iphone. I installed the latest IOS update and have rebooted my phone several times to see if that would help. My work email account on my phone is working fine, as is the internet. I then deleted my Yahoo account off my phone, but when I try to add it back on, I get to the screen after entering my password, and the screen sits there for a few minutes, then just goes back to the screen where I choose which brand account I want to add. (ie: iCloud, Exchange, Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc). There are no error messages that pop up, and other than this my phone is working fine. My Yahoo email was working fine this morning on my phone, and is working fine when I log in from my laptop. My phone is the 6plus.

Yahoo's mail server (meaning AOL's mail server) has been down most of the day. It is starting to come back up, but isn't there yet.

Have had the same problem. I see now several other people having same problem and appears to be on Yahoo's end. I was on the phone with Apple support and they have received numerous calls about this problem. Only solution is to continue to try to add email account back.

Save yourself some frustration by waiting until Yahoo fixes it. Probably by tomorrow. BTW, it also affects Verizon, AOL and several other ISPs who have outsourced email to AOL.

I have exactly the same problem. The suggested fix was to remove and re-add the email account, but when I enter the email and password it waits a few minutes, then bumps back to the add an email account screen. I have another yahoo account that I didn't remove and it is now loading correctly, but I can't re-add the account I removed.

I'm glad to hear it. Apparently only some of Yahoo's network is down. I have no trouble going to webmail, for instance. And some of my associates have reported that it works for them using Windows but not iPhone.
