The FaceTime video chat icon is grayed out in the messages app. I did not change any of my settings and the icon is like that for all of my contacts. Even the contacts that have iPhones. Someone please help. I’ve tried everything only got my iMessage and FaceTime up and running because I had an activation problem and don’t want to turn it off Incase it doesn’t let me in again what do I do someone please help ???

i Did everything is working apart from the face time and mail it won’t let me click on them but when I go onto the app it works but when I’m in I message it’s not working it took me along time to set up iMessage and FaceTime now the icon is not working I can’t turn them off Incase iMessage doesn’t work again
OK, but just to make sure, do you have the Content & Privacy Restrictions turned on under Settings>Screen Time? If you do, turn it off temporarily to see if that allows you access to FaceTime via the Messages app.

Check to see if you have FaceTime turned off in Settings>ScreenTime>Content & Privacy Restrictions>Allowed Apps.
