I called Apple and they said I have to erase my Mac to fix this. Then I pointed out how many other people have been experiencing this issue recently (by pointing them to this thread) and they transferred me to a senior advisor who helped me fix this issue by doing the following:
- Quit the App Store
- Open a terminal and run the following command "defaults delete com.apple.appstore.commerce Storefront"
- Reboot the computer, open the App Store and sign-in.
I ran into this same issue on another computer today and these instructions fixed it on that Mac too.
