accidental swipes right: are the pages never retrievable?

In Safari, when you swipe right the page disappears and can't be retrieved by swiping left. Where is the page? I had a tax form filled out and it's gone, never to be seen again.

If you hold down on the new tab button (the plus button) it will bring up your recently opened tabs and you should be able to open it back up from there.
