How to stream music to multiple speakers in Mac OS without iTunes

Hello,

I've searched and read other posts on streaming music to multiple speakers but only saw answers for iOS or MacOS with iTunes. I want to stream music from Pandora or other apps besides iTunes on my Mac. I've seen threads on creating an Aggregate Device in the Audio MIDI Setup but that doesn't work with streaming music to my Mac and Sonos Play5 Gen2 at the same time. Why does iTunes allow AirPlay to do that but not MacOS Mojave?

I've also tried streaming from the Pandora app on my iPhone, but the Mac does not come up as an option in AirPlay. I've noticed you can only stream to other AirPlay devices but can't play on that iOS device at the same time even with iTunes. Just iTunes on Mac OS allows you to play on the source and multiple AirPlay devices. Anyone know of a solution and/or if possible at all?

Thanks

Have you checked out Airfoil from Rogue Amoeba Software? It is a pretty cool streaming audio server, and it is very easy to set up.

It sends audio to Macs, PCs, iOS devices and Android devices, once you install the free Airfoil Satellite app on any particular device.

It works with Apple TV, HomePod, Google Chromecast, Sonos devices and Bluetooth speakers.

It is also compatible with Spotify and Pandora.

The server itself costs $29.00, but I think it is a good deal for what you get.

Here are some links to learn more:

And here is another one for info regarding the satellite apps:

If you find the above helpful, or if it resolves your issue, please let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, Rogue Amoeba has been around for many years and has some pretty cool stuff which I occasionally use, such as Fission. I also used to use SoundSource, but no longer have a need for it.

What would really be cool is if Airfoil could stream across the Internet like Air Video Server HD does. I don't think it has that capability right now.

Also, it would be great if Airfoil could work just like Air Video Server HD, in that instead of just letting you hear whatever is currently playing on your server machine, you can assign directories on your server machine to Airfoil, so that you can actually see playlists on your satellite app, and choose which song you want to listen to on your satellite device. Now that would be nice!
