I am trying to understand how 27MD5KA-B.AUSA differs from the later spec 27MD5KB-B as there seems to have been some issues with the earlier 27MD5KA, which appear to have been rectified with the later model? I am waiting to order something so clarification would be helpful.

This article is now 2 years old and does not help with the broader question of two different part no's and the apple part no is the same as it was at the time of the issues. Whats different in the B spec model or am i missing something?
There is no requirement that Apple change its sales part number when engineering changes are introduced.
The Apple part number can be the same despite a complete changeover in hardware, if they decide to do it that way.
