Install Windows 8.1 Pro on a 2016 MacBook running Sierra 10.12.6

I have a new full version unopened copy of Windows 8.1 Pro which I would like to install in Bootcamp on my early-2016 MacBook running Sierra 10.12.6. (My reason is I would like to use a MS Money Sunset edition, since I'm tired of the problems running Quicken 2007 for the Mac and the new versions of Quicken for the Mac are a joke.

Question: How do I install Windows 8.1 Pro? I do have an external DVD drive I can connect to the Mac for this purpose.

Additional Question: If I successfully install and run MS Money in Bootcamp, will I then be able to upgrade to High Sierra on the MacBook? (On the net, I have seen that some users are having trouble using Windows with Mojave.)

Hi!

Sure you can install Windows on you Mac. You have to partition your Mac disk in MS-DOS (use Disk Utility)first, and next you can use Boot Camp Assistant with your Windows ISO file for installing the OS on the new partition.

When you have finished you can chose which OS to boot, by turning on your Mac while pressing and holding alt key.

Obviously you can update your Mac to macOS High Sierra whenever you want because Mac HD and Windows HD will be separated one from each other.

I hope I have been helpful.

Andrea
