How tough to upgrade the the hard drive in early 2009 iMac 24"

I have an early 2009 iMac 24" with 8gb ram and the 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I would like to continue using it for a while. I know I am maxed out with the ram. I was thinking about trying to replace the HD with theCrucial MX500 500GB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD

CT500MX500SSD1. I replaced the HD in my Macbook Pro 2 years ago and it made a big difference. The iMac is older and I understand that it is much tougher to upgrade. Any thoughts?

Personally I always look to OWC and iFixit when sizing up a DIY project.

Actually I think Dennis intended this link to OWC's instructional video:

You will need adapters as the SSD is a 2.5" and the old HD is a 3.5" and you will need their tool kit and cable. It is best to call OWC and speak to them. I would also STRONGLY recommend you use their SSDs.
