philips phl499P9 webcam & sound problem mac os Mojave 10.14.3

Hello,

i just bought the PHL499P9 and it looks great.

But i'm having trouble with the sound & the webcam

My setup:

1 macbook pro (13 inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)

connected with USB-C to the PHL499P9 monitor

1 wireless apple keybord + 1 wireless apple mouse connected true bluetooth.

The PHL499P9 has internal sound, but when i try put the sound down or up, i get a message that i can't use the keys on my keybord to do so. I have to do it manually with the buttons on the screen (very anoying).

when i go to my sound (in the above right corner) it is grayed out and i can't manage the sound of the monitor. Is this because of the monitor? that it is to brand new?

The webcam problem - the monitor has an internal webcam.. this webcam can be chosen in facetime.. but it doesn't work..

does anyone has experience with this monitor and a macbook?

grtz

Have you reached out to Philips, and/or their website to see if there is a firmware update for the PHL499P9 device, or that it is even mentioned as Mac compatible or compatible with macOS Mojave? Does this device require specific Philips drivers to work?

Unless a fellow user has experience with this webcam on Mojave, you may need to look for a driverless, macOS compatible webcam. I know for a fact, that as of macOS 10.14.3, my Logitech C920 Pro HD webcam works like a charm.

Hey VikingOSX,

i have encountered another problem. Apparently my macbook pro 2018 edition is not giving it's full potention to the monitor.

It is not using the maximum resolution as it should.

Can this be related to the fact that my mac has 4 thunderbold 3 connections and that the monitor accepts only usb c 3.1 ?

however, it works, i can see my screen on the philips monitor.

What would be your advice on this?

thx
