Apple Health tracking of steps on a Treadmill

Is there a way that you can track steps on a treadmill with Apple Health on a iPhone SE. I do not have an Apple Watch, but would still like to track those steps. If not is there a way that I can log them in manually.

I know that Apple Health can connect to some health equipment with Gym Kit, but the treadmill that I am using does not have that feature.

Thank you in advance for your replys.

If you hold the phone in your hand and swing your arms, the phone should track your steps. I've also used armband holders.

You can always add the distance that's displayed on the treadmill to Health manually.
