Apple TV recently purchased movie list incorrect

The "Recently Purchased" movie list is completely wrong. My most recent purchase is correctly shown first but after that movies that are months old are shown instead of my recent purchases. The list is supposed to show your most recent 8 purchases. This just occurred, it used to be correct. I've tried unplugging the ATV device and waiting 60 seconds and later also software (menu) restarting the Apple TV 4K. Nothing has corrected the problem. It may seem minor but this is a deal killer for new movie purchases. I know it may seem minor but if you have a large movie ownership in iTunes and tend to buy movies in bunches when they are on sale, it is a nightmare. I have to scroll many pages to find a movie or two I just bought.

Tried your suggestion but it didn’t work. Sorry about the late response but I wanted to try several things. Nothing worked. I think the problem is even more faceted than I originally described.

I discovered that several of my movies were missing. The missing movies were all movies that I purchased on UHD or HD disc and had digital copies enabled with the purchase.  I entered them into Ultraviolet and they later transferred to iTunes when I linked iTunes to Ultraviolet. Not all of my Ultraviolet movies disappeared, only some of them. They were still there in Vudu, another of my linked movie sites. Also, some movies originally purchased in iTunes are not showing in Vudu while other iTunes purchases are showing up in “My Movies” in Vudu.  Could the problem be connected to Ultraviolet shutting down — a database problem?

I agree that it is a more widespread issue. It happened to me on my AppleTV, 24 hours after buying 6 new movies on the AppleTV. It defaulted back to a list of movies I bought maybe 4-6 months ago. None were over from any other format, all purchased on the same AppleTV.

Another thing I noticed just today, which is why I am posting. I have music on iTunes that refuses to play. Says I am not authorized to play it. However it is listed in my purchased music and I can download it, and when I deauthorize and reauthorize the computer, it has no effect.

It is almost like a server database was lost or corrupted and then restored from an older version. Most things worked fine, but there are things that have slipped through the cracks.

For most it would not be a big issue, but I have a 5TB iTunes library at home, with things Apple no longer has rights to, or sells.

iTunes just isn’t working as it should.

i hope you can get your music back. Sometimes, software updates have wiped out older purchases I had stored in an apple device. Stuff they no longer sell.

I got my wish list back on Apple TV. I need that to put my new movies in until they fix this, it’s a quick way to get to them for now. I’ve downloaded all my favourite movies before they do a complete vanishing act.

Im sure they’re aware of the glitches and I’m hoping they rectify it... soon!

I never said it was isolated to Apple TV. I said it’s more faceted than I described in MY original post. I said that because MY original post centered on the incorrect movie order in the “Recent Purchases” section on the Apple TV. After I investigated in more detail, I discovered that many movies I owned were actually missing compared to when I would previously look at all of my movies in iTunes on the Apple TV. Then I speculated/questioned what could have caused the problem.

Yes I know you didn’t say that.

I was just emphasizing my own statement that mine wasn’t isolated to just Apple TV.

There are several threads on it and each of us have different issues with the purchases.

its a problem with Apple and there’s nothing we can do to resolve it from our end.

if you haven’t done so already, please report it to Apple
