Screen Refresh rate on an iMac

Hi Folks!

I teach digital media and one of my student's is developing really bad migraines that appear to be triggered by working on his iMac. I'd like to increase the refresh rate of the monitor to see if that helps. Has anyone done this successfully? How would I go about doing this, and what rate might be helpful?

Thanks a lot for any help.

Try reducing the screen brightness. The eye's response time is slower at lower light levels, so flicker has less effect.

If the room is too bright, this may cause problems with reflections on the screen. In that case, leave the brightness higher and have the student try wearing sunglasses (non-polarized). The sunglasses reduce the brightness of the screen and the refections.
