TRACKPAD NOT CLICKING IN MY MACBOOK PRO LAPTOP

I have MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 (17G65). From the past one month the trackpad is not clicking on my macbook. I am unable to select or copy or drag anything. However the trackpad is responsive of the touch but it is sometimes jumpy and jittery. I have tried all the possible workarounds provided on the internet-

  • I don't have a mouse so there is no possibility that the mouse is clicking in the bag
  • No Trackpad Firmware update available
  • Relevant trackpad settings are on
  • I have reset NVRAM and PRAM. The click worked for only 5-10 mins after doing this

Please suggest me what to do to fix this issue. It is very difficult to work in this situation.

If the problem persists while booted in Safe Mode, and if it persists in a newly-created login, then you’ll want to contact the Apple Support folks directly. Your MacBook Pro may well need service.
