There is nothing you can do unless you return the phone to somebody you know in the USA and have them deal with it. That's a problem with buying a phone in a different country. Apple also won't handle international shipments.

"IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.

Apple may [read as almost certainly will] restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device."

Okay guys soo i have a good news.. they changed the phone but only the phone not the entire box.. they had a small box only a phone inside that is US version.. in the beginning they wanted to fix the camera under the warranty. Which mean the warranty is international :).. but when I insisted that I want a new unit. They said they will check if they have US one and they can only give me a new phone but i will keep the old accessories.. only in the US they would change the entire thing..

Yes, we will be really interested to hear the results of you doing that. People say things such as "there is no worldwide warranty for all portable products'* but in fact that is not what the warranty says (as I posted earlier). From discussions here it just seems Apple always invokes their exception clause where they "may" , but not necessarily have to, restrict coverage. I just think we haven't seen a case where they have been willing to do warranty coverage in another country. I am guessing it might be possible if it was a simple case such as a broken screen but for most other repairs Apple replaces the entire unit with a refurbished one. Cellular devices may have region-specific components and I suspect Apple stores only stock models specific to that region. Basically, Apple Italy won't have a US phone to give you as a replacement and neither do they want to be stuck with a US phone in Italy.

Keep us posted.

*In fact this statement may also be in error because "portable devices" include iPods but those are not mentioned in that warranty exclusion.

Unfortunately I cannot see the path you followed to get to that link (and backing up the URL does not work). You have to be careful you were not following a path for a computer warranty. That is not the same as a cellular mobile device warranty.

Even so, note this line from the document you linked: "However, service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested."

Sounds to me that you aren’t going to a corporate Apple Store because you are getting a lot of misinformation:

  1. The fact they can replace the camera does not mean the warranty is international
  2. Apple replaces iPhones with Service Replacement Units just like the one you are describing. Same in the US. The only way you get a new one is if you are in the 14 day return period.
  3. The only differences in the phone are regulatory and some US models have a CDMA radio.
  4. Apple does not ship US service replacement units outside the US.
