Pinyin-Simplified Candidate Window Error

When I switch to Pinyin (Simplified Chinese) input mode and I start typing, the candidate window (that lists possible matches) DOES NOT SHOW UP, but if I type space or click on numbers produces candidate result depending on the number. When I changed to traditional the candidate window shows up. I deleted the Pinyin-Simplified several times then added it, changed from vertical to horizontal (orientation), it still does not show the candidate window.

Can someone help me out?
