iMac crash to yellow screens

I have my iMac 2015 5k Retina display linked with my old 27 inch display. Suddenly the computer crashed and I got two yellow screens. What the heck? Anybody know what a fix might be?

Randomly my screen turned into this black and yellow checkered display. I waited and nothing changed so I decided to go for the easiest approach and unplug the power cord. Started up the iMac and it seems fine now but I'm worried perhaps the screen might be damaged in some capacity. I don't use the iMac abnormally. The only thing that might be is that I shut down the iMac not that frequently maybe once a month - in other words I am always switching it to sleep mode. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

iMac display screen iMac late 2012 27" screen. Opened iMac from sleep and screen shows vertical colored lines. Restarted now different color background and different color lines. Similar different results on subsequent restarts. Computer is work income. What has happened and what do I do?

iMac potential graphics issue I have noticed my iMac screen locks on the attached distorted screen. It seems to happen when the mac is left unused, before the screensaver should kick in. This is an intermittent fault. The screen will stay on like this indefinitely (so the screensaver and sleep mode is not kicking in) but the screen returns to normal if I press escape. Has anyone experienced similar or recognise what the issue may be?

Try resetting the NVRAM first and if that does not work, please restart in Safe Mode. Links to instructions are in:
