Touch ID disabled after screen replacement

So we got our iphone 6 Plus screen replaced to a third party screen, they used the original Home button but it still gives an Touch ID error. Is this suppose to happen when you use a third party screen?

The iphone is on iOS 10.1 and we would like to stay there so we don´t want to try a itunes restore unless we are sure that it will fix the problem, and as far as we have understood it probably won´t fix the problem anyway?

The long flex cable that runs along the shield plate and which connects the home button to the motherboard maybe did got a tiny kink near the lower connector which wasn´t there before, so could that cable throw this touch ID error? And would it help to install a new third party flex cable in that case, or does it also needs to be the original flex cable in order for Touch ID to work, just like the home button needs to be the original one?

The strange thing is that we earlier got a iphone 6 screen replacement and it also got the touch ID error. So exact same job and exact same problem on 2 different iphones. And on that iphone we are pretty sure that the flex cable or the home button wasn´t damaged.

So what are we missing here, which are the different things that can give the Toch ID error after a screen replacement? I thought Apple fixed the "error 53" thing that occurred after screen replacements in early 2016 and which disabled the touch ID?

As i said earlier this phone is on iOS 10.1, and so were the other iphone 6 which also got the toch ID problem. iOS 10.1 was released in October 2016 so as far as i have understood the error 53 thing was already fixed by that time?

Are you really sure about that? As far as i have read online it´s the home button that needs to be the original one, not the screen?

Sure it was like that in early 2016 when a third party screen replacement gave the error 53 at itunes updates and the touch ID was disabled, but as far as i know Apple came out with an iOS update that fixed this problem.

Yes sure, but how would a new screen by itself threaten the security of the device? The secure enclave is on the Home button as far as i have understood, or on a chip that is located on the home button, so thats why the home button needs to be the original one because its paired to the motherboard of that particular phone.

But in our case they transfered our old original home button back to the phone, but still no Touch ID functionality.

It sounds like the 3rd party you are using is disconnecting the the Touch ID cable from the security enclave chip when replacing the screen (hence the kink, which is pretty amateurish, find a different repair site). Doing this requires the use of Apple controlled software to reset the Touch ID. Since you have 3rd party hardware in the iPhone Apple will not replace the screen and Touch ID on your iPhone unless you can really do a sales job on the manager at the Apple Store.

Is the home button still working? If yes you can continue to use the iPhone, you just won't be able to use Touch ID or anything that requires it.
