uninstall yahoo powered search

Hey! Here is a problem and a solution!

Yahoo Powered Search keeps popping up with new manipulative ways for me to download their latest updates. I don't think it has affected my computer performance, but the popup bugs me and I don't appreciate how Yahoo keeps doing this.

I looked around a long time for a way to get rid of it and the following solution worked for me.

Another community member had posted a similar problem, where the solution was to find the "Yahoo Powered Search" in an applications folder, and move it the trash folder. I didn't find Yahoo in my applications folder and disregarded that solution. I kept searching for an answer. Then another community member shared that he/she didn't go the applications folder to find the program, but instead had "spotlighted" the Yahoo application. That worked! I found "Yahoo Powered Search" in an obscure applications folder! I'm not surprised that it was hiding somewhere.., and I second the opinion that Yahoo should be sued!

Alas. Press SPACE BAR + COMMAND to activate your computer's spotlight search. Type in "Yahoo Powered Search" and drag the whole thing to your trash. Problem solved!
