FaceTime camera issues .. stays on even if call isn't accepted, and has to be Force Quit-ted

I have a MacBook Air, an iPad Pro, and an iPhone XR.

If I receive a FaceTime-qualifying call, FaceTime on my Mac opens and the camera is on. Which is OK.

If I answer the call on my iPad or my iPhone, FaceTime stays open showing my camera image. If I quit FaceTime, the green light for my camera is still lit.

When I look in the dock, FaceTime is still running, and can't be exited normally. I have to Force Quit to get it to close... and sometimes even that doesn't work, so I have to reboot.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Jason Vagner,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I understand that the camera on your Mac stays active when you receive a FaceTime call even if you answer from your iPhone. I can understand your concern with this so I want to help. To start, does this occur if you test this in safe mode or in another user account? Take a look at this links here to test and let us know the results.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Regards.
