I got my iPad pro replaced under warranty, can I still buy apple care for it?

I got my iPad pro replaced, when I tried to buy apple care for it, it says that 'We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. '


So I can't buy apple care for it then? Even if it was replaced under warranty and still within the time period from purchase?

No.

Under AppleCare or AppleCare+, if you receive a replacement iPad as part of your warranty coverage/coverage plan, the replacement iPad only retains the remainder of your initial AppleCare plan or if AppleCare has run out, the replacement iDevice gets a 90-day warranty period.
