Apple People Finder

I've used an iPhone for about ten years and upgraded two or three times. I work with a lot of teenagers in an area where there are a lot of phone company employees too who always seem to be popping up wherever I am. It's creepy and I thought they might have gotten ahold of my phone number and are finding me with People Finder. I've turned off the locating function in privacy, but it doesn't seem to help much.

Is there a way to completely removed People Finder from my iPhone? I love my phone, but its such a problem I'm considering switching to a non-Apple product to get rid of the problem.
