USB Super Drive

When I connect my USB SuperDrive to my iMac (2015) I receive an error message: USB Accessories Disabled - Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices.

I don't have anything else connected. Anybody know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

I suspect you have a bad SuperDrive or that it has a bad USB cable.

Reset your Mac’s SMC as per > How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac and retry the SuperDrive.

If you still have the same issue, then test the SuperDrive connected to a different computer.
