Early 2015 MacBook Pro Retina Audio issues (MacBook Pro 12,1) MainStage and Garageband issues

Greetings everyone,

I plugged in an aux cord to my Macbook and the computer restarted. I had no issues logging back in, but now I cannot get any sound through the internal speakers or aux port. I also have no output devices showing up in my preferences. When I press the volume keys, I get a circle with a cross through it and no sounds from anywhere. I have reset the PRAM, NVRAM, and tried checking the aux port for a red light/stuck sensor. I deleted my laptop and reinstalled everything. I continue to not have any options for audio drivers. When I go to use MainStage 3, it will not load the program due to not recognizing any audio drivers. Garageband will not allow me to export anything due to not having audio drivers. Is the audio portion of the logic board fried? I booted, holding 'D' and the analysis came back saying there were no issues. I cannot find an instance in weeks of googling of anyone else having a fix. Thank you for your help.

Hello tubasam,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. From your screenshots I can see that you’re Internal Speakers are not showing up as an output device for your MacBook Pro. You’ve done a great job of troubleshooting.

Check out this article: Get help if the internal speakers on your Mac don't make sound

In step 3 under, “Check your sound settings,” it states: “Click the Output tab, then select Internal Speakers. If you don’t see Internal Speakers as an option in the Output window, contact Apple Support.” Be sure to reach out to Apple for further assistance.

Enjoy your day!
