I have tried multiple times to use the Apple News app but when I search for it and click open i get the error that restrictions must be turned off. I am in the US and the region is set correctly. I have searched the web for an answer and have not found one. Not sure it is worth this much trouble since there are alternatives but hope to at least fix the issue.

Did you recently change your Apple ID country/region?

I have not changed my Apple ID country/region ever. And here is the error.
Did you check: Settings>Screentime>Content&Privacy restrictions>Allowed apps>news (last option)?
Is it allowed (green)?

I literally turned off restrictions. But even if I turn restrictions on everything is green or allowed.
There is also no news app on my home screen. I have to search for it and then click Apple News and it come up with what looks like apps store and I hit open. Then i get the restrictions error.
