New MacBook Pro - can't update Garage Band

I have a new MacBook Pro, and I'm updating and trying to update Garage Band. After signing in with my Apple ID, I get message "Your request is temporarily unable to be processed. Please try again later." I have tried several times with the same result.


The App Store actually shows 5 apps to update, but I did 4 of them previously. Garage Band was the only one that wouldn't work.


Tried to search Garage Band in App store and download from there. Get "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."


What do I need to do to make the update notification for Garage Band go away?
