spellcheck doesn't work

SPELLCHECK IS NOT WORKING IN PAGES - FEB 2019. It shows me something is misspelled, but when I click on it it won't open to offer suggestions. Is there any remedy for this? THANK YOU!

Are you doing Control plus Click?

Is the dictionary set to English in Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar?
