Browsers (Chrome & Safari) hanging on MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.1

Google Chrome is crashing on my MacBook (running Mojave 10.14.1).

Takes a reboot to fix the problem.

For a while after a reboot, things work OK in Chrome; then in some tabs, web sites stop loading, while other tabs continue to work, say, for gmail.

Some tabs give the "Page Unresponsive" pop-up message, but clicking "Exit Page" on that pop-up does nothing to fix the problem of web sites not loading.

At this point, if I try to exit Chrome, it hangs and goes into a "not responding" state.

chrome://settings/ also does not load at this point.

I can Force Quit Chrome at that point, but now Chrome does not run normally, i.e., does not even load google.com, not even in an Incognito tab, until I reboot the MacBook.

I might have found the cause. I have a brand new 2018 15" MacBook Pro w/ an i-9 processor from work which has a bunch of security stuff installed on it, like SentinelOne and Symantec. Do you have any anti-virus/security monitoring on yours? I was able to get SentinalOne removed and got rid of Symantec myself and it looks like that cleared up the issue (as of now). When I got my company to remove Sentinel from my MBP, the problem would only occur around 1x a day instead of every 30min - 1 hour. But with Symantec removed, I haven't had a problem in ~3 days...

Did you find a fix for this? I have a brand new 2018 MBP w/ I9. My company installed SentinelOne and Symantec on it. Chrome would lock up like described and I would have to restart to use any web browser. I was convinced it was Sentinel. I had them remove SentinelOne and Symantec but it is still happening (not as often). Instead of having reset every hour or so, I now have to do 1-2x a day.

I have exact the same issue. I cannot even restart OS properly (MacBook Pro 15' 2018 edition, MacOS 10.14.3, dark mode) - have to push the power button...

The work around is to use Firefix. Since both Safari and Chrome are dead and they both use webkit. I'm wondering something wrong/crashed at the OS level or some shared libraries and only the OS reboot can fix the problem.

One observation I have is the problem seems to happen after the MacBook Pro back from sleep mode (lid opened again) without power cable attached.

I now have to use Firefox to post my response here as I don't want to spend time on rebooting the machine over and over again.
