carplay stuttering

Ever since the 11.3 update I have had problems with CarPlay. It stutters during playback of Apple Music or podcasts and then gives me error of no connection. Sometimes it restarts.

Ive troubleshooted everything. New cable, reset of iPhone 6s and latest updates, head unit reboots and resets, auto manufacturer head unit replacement and software updates (Honda) and everything else. There are tons of people online complaining about the same issue, no matter the car or iPhone model and although nothing acknowledged by Apple, has to be a software issue with CarPlay.

I was ready to buy a new iPhone, but may not until this is fixed.
