iCloud Music Library playlists can only include music from your iCloud Music Library. This playlist can’t be uploaded because it includes other media kinds or songs that are not eligible.

Hi Everyone

I recently signed up to Apple Music which I am loving. It has taken me a long time to get away from the whole buying CDs thing.

I have uploaded my music to iCloud however some of my playlists are not showing here. When I look at the playlist on my iMac there is a cloud symbol with a line through it. When I click it says 'iCloud Music Library playlists can only include music from your iCloud Music Library. This playlist can’t be uploaded because it includes other media kinds or songs that are not eligible'. Any idea what this means? All the songs on my iMac are legitimate. Either ripped CDs or purchased downloads.

There are also tracks that appear in my iCloud library. When I tried to play it says they can't be played. When I check these on my iMac they have a dotted line cloud symbol with status 'waiting'. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Many thanks

Ashley

You may check your iTunes Library with a smart album with the rule "iCloud Status is ineligible".

I have quite a few items that must not be included in iCloud playlist. iCloud will not upload duplicates, so check for duplicates in your library. And iCloud will not upload songs with a very poor audio quality (a low sample rate). Also audio files that are too large or songs with a very long duration.

Here is a list for iTunes Match - the same seems to apply for Apple Music:
