Is there a specific way I can/should clean my keyboard? I have bought a can of air from the store, but that did not seem to do the trick. I have 4 keys that keep sticking so I want to try to get down further and clean them. I heard you can use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, but I don't want to ruin anything. Is this acceptable to use?

If using compressed air doesn't solve your issue, and if you have a 2016-2017 MBPro with the newer style keyboards, then you should take it to the Apple Store or Apple Authorized Repair Center even if it is out of warranty. It may qualify for a free repair. Here is a link to the Apple document.
Keyboard Covers:
What type of display is on your MacBook Pro? If it is not retina, then a Keyboard Cover is great to consider. This is because keyboard covers are meant to help prevent residue from getting between and below keys on your keyboard. I use one on my MacBook Pro, which has a glossy display.
However, Do NOT use a keyboard cover on a MacBook Pro that has a retina type display. View this Apple Support Communities reply for such reasons, as to why.
