bluetooth misc loop

This frustrating Bluetooth issue is best described in a video but it looks like I can only post a screenshot...

Anytime I open my Bluetooth settings on iPhone 8 Plus with latest update I get a pop-up saying — Make sure “Misc” is turned on, in range, and is ready to pair.

I’ve tried toggling Bluetooth off and back on, forgetting all devices in the list, power cycling the phone, but to no avail. I have about 4 seconds to quickly connect other devices before the pop-up starts infinitely looping but it’s very frustrating that I don’t have time to tell my iPhone to forget that “Misc” whatever it is.

Anyone else see this behavior?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12

Hey DaveAlger,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I can see you're getting alerts for a new Bluetooth connection but are unable to stop it from re-appearing. It sounds like you've tried some great steps already but I can understand how inconvenient this can be, so I'd like to help. What I'd suggest next is to reset the network settings. Keep in mind this means you may need to reconfigure network settings, so be sure you have your Wi-Fi password handy. Before we do this step, it's always a good idea to be sure you have a recent backup of your device. You can learn more about backing up your data and settings here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. When you’re ready, go to Settings > General > Reset and choose "Reset Network Settings."

Let us know how that goes.

Cheers.
