Selling Water-Damaged IphoneX on Ebay

Hi All,

Unfortunately, my IphoneX saw the bottom of a hot tub last weekend and is completely fried. I got the green screen of death a day after and now it wont even turn on or register when I plug it into a computer.

I looked on ebay and can actually get a few hundred to help recover what I still owe on the phone. It was a 256. However, I can't officially "wipe" the phone clean.

I've had potential buyers want me to remove the "FindmyIphone" on icloud.com, but I'm scared to do this because if they ever get it working, it won't be wiped clean. Granted, I do have it passcode-protected, but id still not rather then be able to access things on it.

Any advice? Can professionals really repair it and hack into the phone? If not, I'll let it go

Thanks!

iPhone X

I see no benefit to selling a phone that no one will ever be able to use. Hopefully you are telling any potential buyer that this phone is damaged beyond repair or use. It would be extremely difficult to get any information off of it. I would turn it into an Apple Store for recycling and get an out of warranty replacement.
