Icloud stole my photos!

I am trying to download my photos back to my phone from the icloud, so that I can view the live versions of some of the older pictures, and I am unable to get them back from icloud, and every time I am on my computer and trying to download all of my photos from iphone to icloud on my computer it says its downloading but only downloads pictures after 2018. it says there are 5,167 photos to be downloaded and approximately 900 of them actually show up in the icloud folder.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like you are unable to download all of your photos from iCloud to iCloud for Windows.

Depending on internet speed, it can take a bit of time to download all photos. Do you see all your photos at iCloud.com from your computer's browser? This article may also be able to help: Get help with iCloud Photos on your Windows PC.

For help downloading to your iOS device, check out: Get help with iCloud Photos under the section "How do I turn off iCloud Photos on only one device?" and you will find "To download the original photos and videos on your iOS device, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos and select Download and Keep Originals."
