When I purchase a song in the iTunes store, it shows up in my library. Often, another song a duplicate shows up with a down arrow iCloud? When I delete this song, it ask if I want to hide the song? Not sure what is going on. Any help appreciated, thanks

Sign out of your Apple ID and then sign right back in again. This normally resolves any cloudy duplicates. For persistent items try deleting your original copy and download the version from the cloud, or hide the item from your purchase history.

Thanks, that is not my issue. When I purchase a song, occasionally, iTunes gets the song and a duplicate with a cloud icon. Why and how do I stop it from happening?
This is the issue I am speaking about. This screen shot is of a recent purchase, why would I get two copies of the same song?
I understand how to remove the duplicate. My question is why is this happening? No one can tell me.

It is a bug. At each launch iTunes attempts to show not only your local library but also any unhidden and undownloaded purchases. Sometimes it fails to recognize items in your library as matching up with a purchase in the store and thus shows both.
