how do I insert a page break in numbers?

I'm used to working in Xcel spreadsheets and just bought a new MacBook Pro. I'm working in Numbers. I want to insert a page break in my spreadsheet. where is the command for this? I couldn't find it in the file list or in help,.

It doesn't exist there, Cornelia.


It is actually only under the Print command.


Go to File Print and then set your parameters on the right.

There is no page break in Numbers. It is not in the Print Setup either but you can see how the table will break across pages there.


Printing feels like a secondary thing in the design of Numbers. At one time it had a terrific method for page layout where you could drag objects around and resize them while seeing how they would print (WYSIWYG) but that was removed years ago. It never did have user-defined page breaks, though.


One solution to your problem, perhaps, is to break the table into smaller tables and arrange them on the sheet so they print where you want them. It might be easiest/better to put them in separate sheets (given the lack of a good page layout feature to guide you).
