Error Code 4sns/1/40000000:VDOR-18.500

I have a USB ports that do not work with an iPad or iPhone but one of them will charge other devices such as wireless speakers and a Samsung phone.

I have rang apple support and they cannot seem to find an error.

I have run a hardware test and it came back with one error code but I have no idea what it means/

The error code is 4sns/1/40000000:VDOR-18.500 , can anyone help with what this means?

Would be nice to know if possible before I take it to a store to be looked at?

Thanks,

Jacob

Sorry to be late back to the party--Wednesday was too busy a day for an old retired guy!.

It could cause the issue but let's try something else first. Sometimes an SMC reset can help. Please see this Apple article:

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

Make sure you know which MacBook Pro you have (from "About this Mac") so you use the correct section for instructions.

...would it be an easy fix?

Like the SMC reset, that is totally dependent on your MacBook Pro's sub-model. MBPs have been around for 13 years with easily over 100 variants; 13-inch models have been in the line since 2009. If you post what sub-model of a 13-inch MBP you have, I can research the repair options. The sub-model is in "About this Mac" and has a year associated along with Early, Mid, or Late. This is how "About.." looks like for my 13-inch MBP:

⚠️ For security reasons, please DO NOT post the serial number.

would that affect the workings of the USB ports and would it be an easy fix?

USB port definition is redefined each time you reboot the Mac. This can be done manually Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

your sensor error is a voltage sensor in relation to the DC-in board.

Check you Battery condition from the menubar icon in the upper right, option click the battery icon.

Apple desktop computers rely on capacitors to buffer against voltage fluctuations, however

Notebook computer   use the installed battery to buffer against voltage fluctuations by relying on the battery. It is not advisable to use your notebook computer without a normal working battery in good condition. You are at risk having the  voltage fluctuation damaging the internal components.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
