How to undo or delete a terminal command

I wanted to change the language on excel to english, so that i wouldn't have to translate every command into norwegian. After a quick google search i found this command:

defaults write com.microsoft.Excel AppleLanguages '("pt-BR")'

I was told to change the pr-BR to the language i wanted to change to. It worked perfectly. Excel was changed to english default language.

After a couple of saves, it stopped saving. The documents i already have on my computer, i am able to edit and save (but not save as). But if i open a new document and do some work, i am not able to save. It allows me to klick the "save" and "save as" buttons but nothing happens afterwards. And if i close the document, this comes up:

If i klick save, nothing happens, but if i klick dont save it closes the document without saving.

So my question here is what can i do to undo the command that i wrote into terminal? (or is this the right way to approach the problem?) I have tried just using backspace to delete the command and i have tried putting a # in front of the command. But every time i open terminal again i am back to where i started

Some command-line commands can only be undone only by rolling in your backups. Always have backups.

For assistance with Microsoft Office, please check with Microsoft Support folks, and with the Office help.

Quit all open Office apps.

Then reset to the desired country and language. The following is based on DDG searches, and there’s no Office install available to test these... And there are some inconsistencies in what’s reportedly available; some list a country code, others do not. Check wih Microsoft Support or the Office help, here.

Generic English, and what I’d generally use here...

defaults write com.microsoft.Excel AppleLanguages '(en)'

defaults write com.microsoft.Word AppleLanguages '(en)'

defaults write com.microsoft.Powerpoint AppleLanguages '(en)'

defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook AppleLanguages '(en)'

For English US... (whether the -US is needed is unclear, as available postings are inconsistent)

defaults write com.microsoft.Excel AppleLanguages '("en-US")'

defaults write com.microsoft.Word AppleLanguages '("en-US")'

defaults write com.microsoft.Powerpoint AppleLanguages '("en-US")'

defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook AppleLanguages '("en-US")'

Or for Australian English,

defaults write com.microsoft.Excel AppleLanguages '("en-AU")'

defaults write com.microsoft.Word AppleLanguages '("en-AU")'

defaults write com.microsoft.Powerpoint AppleLanguages '("en-AU")'

defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook AppleLanguages '("en-AU")'

Restart Office. (I’d be tempted to reboot, but that’s probably not strictly necessary.)
