Apple TV 4K through Sony HT-ST 5000 cant get HDR.

I can only get standard 4K though my arc of the sound bar, suppose to be able to get HDR. Is there a setting in the Apple TV I am missing? I can hook direct to TV, but lose my 7.1 sound. I have the correct HDI settings on the sound bar(enhanced). I can pass through HDR on my hdr player.

As you found out, to have Dolby Atmos (7.1.2ch) available from Apple TV, you should connect the Apple TV to the audio equipment directly, so that the audio equipment can pass through the video, even in 4K HDR.

Be sure to use the proper HDMI cables for both connections: HDMI 2.0 / Premium High Speed / 18 Gbps.

Some TVs need their HDMI ports set for 4K HDR too, per port.

Problem I am experiencing is that the arc pass through will play my UDH player in HDR, however, my Apple TV try’s to use HDR and after 30 seconds comes back to SD4K. I called Sony support and they said I have a setting wrong on my Apple TV. I can find one. If I hook up straight to my Sony 900F TV, I get everything to work.....just no more 7.1.2. And I did check all the cables are 18 Gbps
