Apple TV and HDR
I have two new Sony Bravia TVs (4K with HDR). I put two Apple TV 4K’s with them and while they work great, the don’t detect the HDR on either TV. They both default to 4K SDR. Thanks for any ideas.

Verify the Apple TV video settings. ‘Match frame rate and dynamic range’ is a good setting.
Verify the HDMI cables. For 4K HDR, you may need 18 Gbps rated cables.
Verify the HDMI settings for the selected HDMI port on the TV. It may need configuration for HDMI 2.0/4K/HDR.

Which model TV do you have?
For example, on my 900e only ports 2 and 3 will do 4K/HDR @60hz and it needs to be enabled within the TV settings.
I also have two 900e Bravias...I just checked and you're absolutely correct! Thanks so much for letting me know. I changed the YouTube TV input from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 and configured it for HDR and when I went to the Apple TV settings it was automatically on 4K HDR 60Hz. For some reason I thought I'd read the TV would automatically adapt and configure when it sensed a 4K HDR signal...wrong. Thanks again!
First thing I did when I discovered the problem was verify the settings...they’re correct. The cables are the highest quality available from Rocketfish and certified for 4K HDR. According to Sony, every HDMI port on the TV is rated for HDMI 2.0/4K/HDR.
Not a problem, glad it’s sorted.
