How can I get GPS coordinates for a location on MacOS Maps?

1. Right-click on the desired location in Maps. Click Drop Pin.

2. Click the "i" icon for info.

3. Scroll down the popover to view the decimal degrees (DD).

How is it possible that the Maps App can determine my position even if I use a VPN? I have enabled geo-localization on my Macbook Pro early 2011 and I am currently using a VPN service.
