SD Card randomly ejecting

Hello,

Today I was trying to transfer some photos from my SD card to my laptop (late 2015 MacBook Pro 13") and it took a while to mount and show up on finder and after it did, it ejected itself after about 10 seconds, showing up the error that says it wasn't ejected properly. If I leave it in the slot, it keeps doing this apparently indefinitely.

Does anyone know why this is happen? Is it software or hardware related? I never had this problem before and I use my sd card quite regularly.

Thanks.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Hi there, andrerdiogo.

I see that the SD card you're using with your 2015 MacBook Pro keeps being ejected and produces an error that it wasn't ejected properly. I'm happy to help.

About the SD and SDXC card slot on your Mac -- Review the information provided in this article. Compare it with the SD card you're using.

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac -- If you're still having problems, reset the System Management Controller. Follow the steps under "How to reset the SMC on Mac notebooks" for a nonremovable battery. Test the issue once you're back to the desktop.

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac -- If the SD card keeps being ejected, restart your Mac in safe mode and test how it responds. Afterwards, reboot normally and log into your own user account. Remember this when booting in safe mode: Graphics performance limited in macOS Recovery, safe mode, or Guest User mode

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac -- If the issue is also happening in safe mode, use this article to create and test a new user account. This will demonstrate if the issue is isolated to your account, or if it's system wide.

Let me know how that goes, and take care!
