Raw photos in photos

Can you handle raw photos in photos app?

That will depend on your camera model and the system version you have installed. Photos is using the RAW support installed by MacOS X.

For OS X 10.11El Capitan the following camera models have RAW support in Photos:

Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support


If you upgrade to macOS 10,14 Mojave, you can use the RAW format of these cameras in Photos:

Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 12 and macOS Mojave - Apple Support
