Problem with adding ringtones to iPhone Xs M

How do I get my ringtones to show up on the iPhone Xs Max? When I got this phone, and transferred everything from my old iPhone to the new phone, the ringtones transferred and work fine.

Now, I attach the iPhone to my Mac, open iTunes, and don't see the ringtones. I tried following turingtest2's instructions, but no success. In iTunes, I see the tones I dragged from my Mac to the iPhone, but the small circle by the ringtone in iTunes stays grey, it is not syncing.

I did a reboot of my iPhone after removing all of the existing tones from the iPhone, dragged them over, but they are not syncing.

Hello Chris Milligan,

Thanks for reaching out here on the Apple Support Communities! If I’m understanding your message correctly, your ringtones are not appearing in iTunes, but the ringtones were working on your iPhone when you first transferred the data to your new iPhone XS Max. Currently, you have restored your iPhone removing all the ringtones, and can not get them to sync via iTunes.

If you’re working with Ringtones you had purchased through the iTunes Store, some can be reinstalled through your iPhone, and don’t have to sync through iTunes. This article will show you how to reinstall ringtones you’ve purchased through the iTunes Store, as well as how you can sync them over from iTunes: Use tones and ringtones with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know the results.

Cheers!
