Text messages date/time

I’ve read a few people with the same issue but no answer. I’m new to iPhone.

ever time my phone updates or restarts, all the texts messages change to the same date and time. The big issue is it’s my business phone and I receive 20-30 texts a day and have thousands from different customers. So If I have a customer txt me in the morning for a job, it could drop to the bottom of the list never to be seen again and I’m loosing jobs/work.

This is a very peculiar phenomenon and may happen only when you frequently toggle Date/Time and Zone on your iPhone

Set Automatic Time Zone

You don't need to disable this setting permanently in order to see potential results. It's more like a reboot. Open your Settings app, tap "General," then "Date & Time." On the following page, tap the slider next to "Set Automatically" to disable the setting. Wait for 10–15 seconds, then enable the setting again.

Toggle 'iMessage' On & Off

If none of the methods above work, it might be time to try rebooting iMessage entirely. iMessage itself can actually be disabled, so when other iPhone users attempt to message you, all dispatches are pushed through as text messages instead (green bubbles). This method, similarly to Method 4, requires you to reboot the iMessage setting on your iPhone.

Jump into the Settings app, then tap "Messages." You will see "iMessage" as the first option on this following page. Just as with Method 4, disable this setting for 10–15 seconds, then re-enable it.

Try a Reset All Settings.

  1. This is usually the last resort since it resets all your personalized features back to factory defaults
  2. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
  3. This resets to default everything in Settings, including notifications, alerts, brightness, and clock settings like wake up alarms
  4. Resetting all settings also reverts all your personalized and customized features like wallpapers and accessibility settings back to factory defaults.
  5. Performing this action does not impact any of your personal device data, including photos, texts, documents, and other files
