I want to copy files from my iMac to a External Hard Drive, and vice versa, but it doesn't want to. I have copied some files from my other laptop (with Windows) on it, like movies and I can watch them on my iMac. But I want to make backup files from IMac to External HD.... What app should I use or what is recommended...? Thanks N

What format is the external drive? How are you connected to it? What do you mean by 'but it doesn't want to'? We'll need a more complete description.
How to know the format of the drive? Select it in the Finder and go File -> Get Info:

It sounds like it's formatted as NTFS so if you want to save the Windows files on it you will have to install an NTFS driver, from Paragon etc.

Well, it's hard to tell when you take a screenshot of it enabled. 😎
Try unchecking it again and restarting.
No worries, it is working fine now. Just had to allow the app in my system preferences.
