There can be many reasons for an installation failure, and some details from the error would be helpful.
For packages and versions, Yosemite is supported by Teamviewer versions 10 thru 13... And it seems that Teamviewer 13 is available, and various other versions are also available from the Teamviewer web site.
I would not install packages downloaded from aggregators and other web sites; that can be malware, or can contain malware.
Yosemite is getting pretty old, and an upgrade to El Capitan (or later, as available) is overdue.
You should be able to upgrade to El Capitan.

Interesting. Thanks Mr. Hoffman and Eric Root. When it failed before I figured it was down to the age of the hardware. Right now, the problem is that I don't seem to be able to connect to the App Store at all. I try signing in, but nothing appears in which I can enter my details.
Going through About this Mac gives the same result. I'm not a Mac virgin per se and have been using them since before they were in colour, but never very deeply.

My static internet connection was failing, so I started DHCP again, but should I be able to find El Capitan through the App Store?

You are welcome. I hope the upgrade goes okay.
It did, just rebooting from a final update. Thank you, both.

You are welcome.
I joined to ask the same. My Mac is a 2009 Mac Mini, and it can't be upgraded from Yosemite 10.10.5. This also means TeamViewer is not being updated and I think that's the reason that the OP and I can't log in (or even install in their case).
