Bluetooth keeps dropping out on iMac

My Bluetooth seems to keep dropping in and out on my iMac. Running Mojave 10.14.3. It just periodically (multiple times a day!) loses connectivity to my Magic MOuse and Apple wireless keyboard. Some times it will come back on it's on after about 30 seconds or so, and sometimes I have to reboot the computer. It also seems that I cannot "wake up" the Mac with either my Mouse or keyboard, even tho I have that option switched on in preferences. It seems other people are having this problem as well from what I see, but I haven't seen and answer. Driving me crazy!

Do you have the Android File Transfer app on your iMac? If so, uninstall it. Many other people have found that this is the cause of the bluetooth issues. I did, once I removed it and made sure it wasn't loading at start up, I have no longer had issues with this problem.

I spent 3 days trying every method known until I turned off 2.4ghz signal on my router which I believe is the same frequency as BT. So far so good. If your router supports 5g just kick off that. Worth a try.

Any solution here? I'm having this issue too. I've got in touch with Apple and they are acting like they've never heard of the issue before...

Been having this problem and best Apple can come up with is basically "switch it off and switch it on again" . Taking whole lot back to shop if not sorted soon

Standard troubleshooting step would be to reset the SMC on the computer.

Unfortunately standard troubleshooting did not work. I did that but problem remained. Removed Android File Transfer, problem fixed, like many others have now discovered.

Thanks. Have removed file and seems to have cured the problem. Not dropped out since done a week ago.
